Joshua Rosenthal created the Institute for Integrative Nutrition—one of the leading health coaching certification programs in the world.
In fact, he coined the phrase “Health Coach” and his organization has certified an astounding 100,000+ coaches around the world (including Alexandra!).
As we develop our Optimize Coach program, I’m deeply inspired by all they have done over the last 25+ years to make a positive difference in the world.
Joshua also wrote a book called Integrative Nutrition.
Today we’re going to talk about a powerful little line in there.
He tells us that “Health is a vehicle, not a destination.”
I LOVE that distinction.
→ “Health is a vehicle, not a destination.”
Of course, we can apply the same truth to Optimizing. Getting our minds and bodies and souls Optimized isn’t an end in and of itself. It’s a means by which we can do what’s most important. A very (!) important means but not the ultimate purpose of the whole game.
That’s Today’s +1.
Let’s work on getting ourselves all bright and shiny and functioning at a high level.
Not as an end in and of itself per se.
But as a VEHICLE to do what we’re here to do and get to destinations we’re supposed to get to.
