#1123 Gotta Do It?

Might as Well LOVE It!

We’re in the process of selling our house while buying another.

As part of that process, I’ve been on the phone a lot more than normal—chatting with different people from different companies to collect all the paperwork and data we need to close the transactions.

Now, I can’t say that I’m a huge fan of doing such things.

But…

I can tell you that I like to practice my philosophy.

So…

When I engage in mundane things like this, I like to keep some wisdom in mind.

Like this gem from Walter Russell: “There should be no distasteful tasks in one’s life. If you just hate to do a thing, that hatred for it develops body-destructive toxins, and you become fatigued very soon. You must love anything you must do. Do it not only cheerfully, but also lovingly and the very best way you know how. That love of the work which you must do anyhow will vitalize your body and keep you from fatigue.

And this one from the Buddha: “If anything is worth doing, do it with all your heart.

And this one from Seneca: “There is nothing the wise man does reluctantly.

And this one from George Leonard: “Could all of us reclaim lost hours of our lives by making everything—the commonplace along with the extraordinary—a part of our practice?

And, well, that’s Today’s +1.

Got any mundane things you need to do?

(Of course you do—you’re human!)
