Meet Some of the Inspiring Individuals...

... from the Heroic Coach community of over 12,000 Optimizing Heroes from 115 countries.

As we share on the Program Overview (and invitation letter), almost exactly HALF of the people who go through our Heroic Coach program are Coaches who want to take their practice to the next level (or individuals who plan to become Coaches). The other half “simply” want to use the program to become the best versions of themselves in service to the world.

We think of the two groups like this:

Masters. Individuals who want to live their most heroic lives by mastering themselves and the Heroic perspective while integrating the wisdom gained from the program into their various leadership roles—from entrepreneurs, CEOs, venture capitalists, military leaders and HR executives to therapists, school principals, yoga teachers, and world-class moms.

Coaches. Individuals who want to live their most heroic lives by mastering themselves and the Heroic perspective while integrating the wisdom gained from the program into their new or existing coaching practice.

Our program serves both of those groups, as the (!) most important thing we help everyone do to boost their professional success—whether that’s the CEO or the Coach—is to become a radiant Optimizing exemplar. (Aka the best version of themselves!)

And...

Here are a few stories from Heroic Coaches who have used the program to do just that.

(Note: Head here to read hundreds of testimonials on how our program has served both Masters and Coaches.)

Brandon Guyer is a former Major League Baseball player who retired as MLB’s “hit by pitch king” in 2020 after 7 seasons.

Nicknamed "La Piñata” because of his knack for getting hit by pitches, he played his best game in Game 7 of the World Series, once got hit by 3 pitches in a single game, and hit a 2-run home run in his first at-bat. (He was the 1st Tampa Bay Ray and 108th player in MLB history to do so.)

Today, Brandon is speaking, training, and coaching through Fully Equipped Athlete, and instead of crushing fastballs out of the park, he’s crushing Spartan Races in the Elite Heat.

Literally. Here’s the page description (and featured image) from Spartan’s most recent Unbreakable Race Story. (One of our favorite lines, “Despite his propensity for taking 95 mile per hour fastballs to his body, he never wore protective equipment and never once left a game, or missed a subsequent game, after getting nailed by a pitch.”)

Brandon was also in Heroic Coach - Class V.

Here's what he has to say about joining the program:

"The vast amount of knowledge and wisdom I’ve learned over the past six months has truly been life changing.

The funny thing is, I already thought I was in a great place in life (mentally, physically and spiritually) and didn’t necessarily need, nor have the time to do the Heroic Coach Certification. I couldn’t have been more wrong. As Brian says, “You think you’re at a 9 but you’re really at a 3.” Yup, that was me.

Playing Major League Baseball for 7 years and always being on the lookout for new ways to *optimize* left me feeling like I had somewhat reached my full potential, on and off the field. That was until I found Heroic and gained an understanding of what it truly means to live a great life."

AND…

It was Brandon who inspired Brian (Heroic Founder & CEO) to get his Areté tattoo.

"I went as far as getting the word Areté tattooed on my forearm as a constant reminder to express the best version of myself, moment to moment to moment."

Speaking of Areté, here’s Brandon teaching a group of up-and-coming players the importance of living with areté both on and off the field:

Brandon also shared his expertise with our Heroic Coaches as a Luminary Guest Faculty member, teaching us about the power of failure, sharing peak-performance tips, and leading us through a Tool for visualizing. (Meet the 70+ other Luminary Guest Faculty members who have joined us here.)

(Fun Note: Brandon's Luminary Guest Faculty session happened WHILE he was still a participant working his way through the program!)

Check out the recording of that session here.

Brandon inspires us as a world-class athlete who continuously pushes his mind and body to the limit, a committed husband to his wife and father to their 3 children, and a radiant exemplar who encourages everyone around him to do and be a little bit better every day.

We can't wait to see what's in store for him in the years and decades ahead, and honored to have played a role in his journey so far:

"Without a doubt, I am the most loving, kind, disciplined, encouraging, bold, and generous person I’ve ever been.

I am a better husband, father, son, friend and coach than I’ve ever been.

With all of that being said, it doesn’t mean I don't get knocked down, have setbacks, feel fear, or have tough days. Trust me I still have and will always have all of that. Only now I have the wisdom, the tools, and the self-mastery to eat those challenges up and come out stronger.

Higher highs and higher lows. That’s what this program has done for me and I know that it can and will do the same for everyone else.

I truly cannot thank Brian, Alexandra, Michael and everyone else at Team Heroic for all that they do."

💪

One person at a time.

Together.

Starting with you and us.
